A security research institute called the F-Secure discovered a new variant of trojan viruses that infect Mac computers. Viruses with the name of OSX / Flashback.C this will attack Apple's OS is a way to disable updater for XProtect components.
Xprotect itself is a component of OSX built in that serves as a protection against malware. This virus will close the road from Xprotectupdater plist file. Furthermore, this virus will rewrite XprotectUpdater files with blank characters. Of course, this virus will also change the plist and binary as well.
