Firefox 4 Mobile Beta for Android and Maemo is Coming

Firefox 4 beta for our first mobile is now available for download and testing. This browser is built on the same technology platform as Firefox for the desktop and is optimized for browsing on mobile phones. Firefox for mobile beta comes with many features favorites like Firefox Sync your desktop Firefox, Add-ons and the Awesome Bar.

The main focus of this release is to improve the performance and responsiveness. Two of the major architectural changes are electrolysis and palette. Our alpha contained Electrolysis which allows the browser interface to run in a separate process of rendering the content of the Web, so that the browser is much more responsive. This beta brings pieces of coating that enhances the overall performance and graphics in areas such as scrolling, zooming, and animation. Firefox 4 Beta includes Firefox Sync to create a seamless browsing experience between desktop and mobile Web. With Firefox Sync, you can take a history / history of your browsing,, bookmarks tab, password and form-fill data with you anywhere so you do not have to retype the password or a URL that long again. Firefox data actually encrypted end-to-end between your computer so only you have access to it. (For those who use Firefox Sync, make sure you are up to date.)

This release provides a set of features, including pinch-to-zoom, which is now supported on multitouch devices, and the Awesome Screen, which instantly gives you access to recent history, bookmarks and tabs just by tapping in the Awesome Bar.
